Mandy Leon has made a tremendous impact in a very short period of time. Not only is she beautiful and charismatic, Mandy also possesses immense talent and in my opinion is one of the finest wrestlers currently active. My introduction to Mandy Leon was at an event at Wahconah Park for Northeast Wrestling. I was at the event personally and that night Mandy teamed with wrestling legend, Jushin “Thunder” Liger and they faced Sumie Sakai and Kamitaichi in a mixed tag match. If I’m being honest, the match wasn’t that special as I am not a fan of inter-gender wrestling, but it wasn’t the match that impressed me. During intermission I had the pleasure of meeting Mandy and she was as nice and down to earth imaginable. It was then that she, whether she knew it or not, made a fan for life.
After this event I immediately began searching YouTube for more matches of her. I watched a handful of matches and was so impressed with her athleticism, charisma and obvious dedication to the craft of professional wrestling. The first two matches I remember watching were her matches with Hania The Huntress. These two ladies tore it up! After seeing her in these outings, I was more convinced than ever that Mandy Leon was someone to keep an eye on as she was going to be a big-time player in the world of women’s wrestling. Mandy’s greatest feud to date was her rivalry with Taeler Hendrix which culminated in an epic No Disqualification match. The No Disqualification match with Taeler to me is what a match like that should be. Taeler and Mandy did all they could to destroy the other, Mandy even getting a busted lip in the process. In the end Mandy, the hero, just could not bring herself to crush Taeler with a steel chair; Taeler, the villain on the other hand, had zero issue with using the chair on Mandy. Mandy’s hesitation cost her a big win, it was subtle, but a fantastic piece of storytelling, something we rarely see in the major leagues now because people have traded psychology and storytelling for dives and springboards.
Mandy is wrestling all over the place! She recently went to Japan and competed for We Are Stardom where she had a great match against another fantastic wrestler in Toni Storm, she wrestles regularly for Ring of Honor and Northeast Wrestling and other various independents across the country and abroad. Mandy Leon has just scratched the surface of what she can do and I am sure audiences around the world will come to love and appreciate her for incredible talents and charm.
