Today in fantasy warfare we take a trip to Texas where the Texas Rattlesnake himself will battle the unsinkable battleship known as Stan Hansen. Both of these men made their name as rebels, outlaws, take no you know what from nobody type personas. Steve Austin became the single greatest draw in American wrestling history, Stan Hansen is amongst the greatest draws in Japanese wrestling history. Both bled buckets and gave just as good as they got. Austin the beloved blue collar good guy, Stan Hansen the feared bad man from Borger. Let’s take a look at how these two Texas rebels would fare in a match against each other.

Today I’m going to talk about what is perhaps the greatest wrestling video game of all time: Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. Released on November 13, 2007 Fire Pro boasted the largest roster in any wrestling game…ever! This game had 327 wrestlers…Three Hundred and Twenty-Seven! They also gave you MMA fighters and female wrestlers also. I won’t name them all, but I will list a few: Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Karl Gotch, Terry Funk, Vader, The Road Warriors, Sting, Jushin Liger, Dynamite Kid, Daveyboy Smith, AJ Styles, Sabu, Andre the Giant, Jeff Jarrett, Tiger Mask, Bull Nakano, Aja, Kong, Manami Toyota, Ken Shamrock, Quinten Jackson, Bob Sapp and an entire league of others. Now here is the thing though, due to licensing issues they do not have the real names, but if you are a hardcore wrestling fan, or even a casual fan, you will be able to rename them to their real-life counterparts. Fire Pro also gave you the ability to create your own referees, rings and gave you 500 create a wrestler slots with limitless range you can pretty much create every wrestler you’ve ever seen on top of the incredible roster already made available to you.
Today we journey back to WCW in 2000. This was near the end of WCW and everything was falling apart. Even in this turbulent time in World Championship Wrestling you can find a hidden gem every now and again such is the case with this match. This match did not have any dazzling high-risk offense, or tremendous displays of technical wizardry, but it did have Terry Funk piledriving Chris Candido in a stable and being kicked by the Horse in the stable!
![]() Ladies and gentlemen Gary Hart presents from the land of the rising sun, the Pearl of the Orient, The Great Muta! That was how Muta was introduced at every major event in the NWA/WCW it gave him a sense of importance and was just a small piece in what the Great Muta so special. Muta had an aura about him, he wore unique face paint, colorful sequenced GI’s and matching pants with a hood that covered his entire face. After the hood was removed, Muta would spit a colored mist from his mouth, most often it was green, but he also had red, blue, black and yellow. Each mist carries its own unique brand of pain. For instance, the Green mist gives a temporary burning sensation, the red mist gives a stronger burning sensation for a longer period of time, blue puts the opponent to sleep, yellow temporarily paralyzes the opponent and black blinds the opponent for several weeks. Muta was handed this gift by his storyline father, The Great Kabuki, the originator of the poison mist gimmick. Today let’s journey back to the year 2002 where wrestling was beginning it’s decline, but their video games were starting their peak. Smackdown Shut Your Mouth was released on October 31, 2002. This was for me, the greatest WWE Video game ever made still to this day. I know No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 and even Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain are more beloved than this title, but I will attempt to explain my reasoning for placing this game above those two. For starters, here is the roster:
Randy Savage and Terry Funk are two of wrestling’s craziest personalities ever! Even in a business where being a little wild, bizarre and unhinged is a normal occurrence, these two managed to stand out in various ways throughout their legendary careers. Randy Savage stood out due to his immense and colorful wardrobe, Terry Funk, he stood out by being completely maniacal! Both men came from wrestling families and both were in my opinion the best of their respective families. Funk and Savage shared many of the same qualities, toughness, charisma, the ability to be humble or a raving mad egotistical lunatic, whatever the situation called for. Amazingly enough Randy Savage and Terry Funk had never met in a ring before! So what would happen if these two icons squared off in the ring? Well, let’s take a look:
Mandy Leon has made a tremendous impact in a very short period of time. Not only is she beautiful and charismatic, Mandy also possesses immense talent and in my opinion is one of the finest wrestlers currently active. My introduction to Mandy Leon was at an event at Wahconah Park for Northeast Wrestling. I was at the event personally and that night Mandy teamed with wrestling legend, Jushin “Thunder” Liger and they faced Sumie Sakai and Kamitaichi in a mixed tag match. If I’m being honest, the match wasn’t that special as I am not a fan of inter-gender wrestling, but it wasn’t the match that impressed me. During intermission I had the pleasure of meeting Mandy and she was as nice and down to earth imaginable. It was then that she, whether she knew it or not, made a fan for life.
